This book was a required reading for my BUS201 class and I would recommend it to anyone. Essentially, it talks about how good companies become great companies but in doing so, it also explains the key characteristics a true Level 5 leader must possess. Not only do you learn about how companies become successful and great but you will also learn some very useful advice about life itself. My post below is a quote describing the Stockdale Paradox that has really stuck with me. Read the book! You’ll learn a thing or two :)
“Retain faith that you will prevail in the end, regardless of the difficulties. And at the same time, confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.”—Good to Great by Jim Collins
This semester has been the busiest semester of my academic career thus far. Projects, group work, exams, meetings, etc…after all of that, I am ready to crash. Except not because I still have final exams to write (15th, 18th, 20th, 21st). And on top of that, I have done zero Christmas shopping for anyone cus I’ve been so busy. Plus with everything that is going on at home, I really, REALLY need to take it easy once this Christmas madness ends. Le sigh.
My list of ‘to dos’ or goals in the next couple weeks/months: - Christmas shop… - Make a scrapbook of my Mom - Get a haircut - Read a book - Find a dress and possibly pair of heels for NYE - Continue to pack healthy lunches for myself - Spend less on eating out - Cardio & yoga - Start reading and researching on things I love - Be grateful - Plan a vacation (Vancouver, Hawaii, Miami, or whichever is more feasible…prob Vancouver)
Fuck Cancer is a movement to encourage Generation Y to educate themselves and their parents about early cancer detection. It is very important to know any risks you or your parents may have to certain types of cancers so measures can be taken to prevent it from happening.
